Nihad Awad. Throughout his lifetime, Mr. Awad has been a leading advocate for justice and mutual understanding, while promoting dialogue and empowering American Muslims. He was born in Amnan New Camp, A Palestinian refugee camp in Jordan. After the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995, Mr. Awad flew to Oklahoma to aid in the relief effort and in 1997, Mr. Awad served Vice President Al Gore as a key figure in the American Muslim Political Coordinating Committee (AMPCC), which helped to create the first Muslim voting bloc for a presidential election. We hope you will join us for this kickoff to our Annual Alumni Weekend (Nov. 3rd and Nov 4th). This year we will be honoring Director of Programs Robert Bridgeman and David Dance for their lifetime commitment to PBHA as they retire.
