2017 Immigrant Youth Empowerment Conference (IYEC)

Hello! On June 3rd, 2017, the AB540 Project will be hosting its 10th annual IYEC! Our theme this year is “A Decade of Empowerment: Resilience is Our Strength, Resistance is Our Liberation.”

In these stressful times, it is important that we highlight the successes of our community and resist any act of injustice that ultimately seeks to criminalize our people. As immigrants, we have endured many hardships, and the Trump Administration is another hurdle to overcome. We acknowledge the inhumane and unjust acts that Trump, along with the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration Customs Enforcement, have set out to do, and in acknowledging them we understand the severity of the climate in the U.S. and commit to helping our communities be informed and unafraid. We hope IYEC can raise awareness and help our undocumented communitites feel safer and more prepared for the times to come.

Please join us for a day of networking, empowerment, and celebration for the work our communities have put forward.
