People’s Climate March – ABQ

Please join the Albuquerque’s People’s Climate March – Standing Rock, Chaco and Your Backyard

We’ll meet at Washington Middle School Park, 1101 Park Ave SW, Abq NM 87102 at 10:30am. We’ll ask everyone to fill out a petition opposing oil and gas developing effecting the communities of the greater Chaco area. We’ll ask you to participate in the climate ribbon project. Bring a piece of ribbon and write some words about what you stand to lose to climate change. At 11am we’ll open with an interfaith prayer and then we’ll hear from an excellent line up of speakers including – Daniel Tso – former Navajo Council Delegate, Sam Sage – Navajo Conselor Chapter Administrator, Laurie Weahkee – Native American Voters Alliance, and more to come. At 11:30am we’ll head out on the march lead by drummers and signers from the Pueblo Action Alliance. We’ll pass by the Downtown Grower’s Market (at Robinson Park/8th and Central) and we’ll end up El Chante – Casa Cultural (804 Park Ave SW) where we’ll join the Pueblo Action Alliance’s Healing Cricule Event (more here – They’ll be selling food from a Pueblo style menu and will offer an area of activities throughout the rest of the afternoon.
