March for Climate and Science – Eau Claire
Science, not silence this Earth Day! Chippewa Valley residents are invited to join the March for Science and Climate on Saturday, April 22, Earth Day!
We will begin at 10 AM on the UW-Eau Claire campus mall adjacent to Phillips Science Hall, crossing the Chippewa River as we proceed to the Planet Walk on the lawn just east of the Haas Fine Arts Center. We will then march through Owen Park to the inner planets in Phoenix Park stopping at each planet to hear from a variety of scientists, science-supporters, and climate activists sharing their stories to inspire and motivate. We will finish by gathering at the labyrinth amphitheater. Afterward, you can walk a few more blocks to downtown and enjoy Jam It For the Planet which begins at noon at The Plus (208 S Barstow St).
This is a locally organized sister march of the People’s Climate Movement (peoplesclimate.org) and March For Science (marchforscience.com). These are both national broad-based coalitions of scientific, faith-based, labor unions, indigenous, civil rights, social justice, and environmental groups working together to build solutions to climate change and to support science.
